How to Win at Craps1. Learn the correct winning strategies found on this website. Craps has both very good and very bad bets. Played correctly, you can actually turn Craps into a winning proposition. Played incorrectly, Craps can bust your bankroll in no time. This site won't teach you how to play every bet, it will instead focus on the strategies most likely to turn you into a winner at the table. 2. Read Professional Guidebooks. Learn from the experts. These books, which can be several hundred pages in length, are a fountain of information and go into detail not feasible on a website. Different authors have different playing styles so it is advisable to read more than one author and choose the style of play that suits you most. 3. Practice before you go to the casino. Use training software to practice at home while it is still free. You can purchase training software or simply use the free download software provided by online casinos to practice at home for free. 4. Choose the right Casino to play in. When considering which casino to play in, look at two numbers
The Odds given- The higher the better
Recommended Casinos:
Atlantic City: Generally speaking, Craps action in A.C. is not as good as Las Vegas. Many Casinos in Atlantic City offer $10 tables with 5x odds. During slack times tables may drop to $5. Mississippi: Low minimums and high odds are common, especially in Tunica area casinos. 5. Take Advantage of Comps. In a game as close as Craps, Comps
(rewards) can put you over the top and ahead of the Casino. Most
Casinos today use your slot club card for keeping track of your action
at the table games as well. Ask the Casino Host for details before
you play. Always join the slot clubs at any Casino you play at.
Basic CrapsCraps made Simple Despite its reputation, Craps is actually a very simple game so lets start at the beginning with the most basic bets. Phase 1 The game begins when the shooter makes his first throw (called the Come Out Roll). To get in on the action simply place your chip on the section of the table in front of you that says "Pass Line" (You are now making a Pass Line Bet) (See Craps Table Layout). If the shooter throws a 7 or 11 you win, if the shooter throws a 2,3,or 12 you lose. If the shooter throws anything else (4,5,6,8,9,10) your bet stays on the table and the game moves on to its next phase Phase 2 Let's say for example that you made your "Pass Line" bet and the shooter throws a 5; that number (5) becomes "The Point". The shooter will keep throwing the dice until he or she throws either a 5 or a 7. The only numbers that matter to you now are 5 and 7. If the shooter throws a 5 first, you win. If the shooter throws a 7 seven before he throws a 5, you lose. Once either the 5 or 7 appear, bets are paid off and you begin the entire process all over again. It is that simple! If the shooter throws a 7 then he loses his turn and the next person at the table gets a chance to throw the dice. If you don't feel like throwing the dice you can simply tell the dealer (Stickman) that don't wish to throw and he will offer the dice to the next person. By making the "Pass Line" bet you are what is called a "Right Bettor".
This simply means you are betting the shooter will make the point before
he throws a seven. Most people choose to bet this way.
Betting against the Shooter You can also choose to place your initial bet on the "Don't Pass" Line (See Craps Table Layout). In this case, if the shooter throws a 2 or 3 on the come out roll you win, if the shooter throws a 12 you tie, and if the shooter throws a 7 or 11 you lose. Again, if the shooter throw a 4,5,6,8,9, or 10 you go to the next phase of the game. In this example you make a "Don't Pass" bet and the shooter throws a five. Again the only numbers you care about are 5 and 7. If the shooter throws a 5 first you lose, if he or she throws a 7 first you win. Once either the 5 or 7 is rolled the process begins all over again.
Both the Pass Line and Don't Pass Line bets pay out at 1 to 1 (even money), meaning if you make a $5 Pass or Don't Pass bet and win you will win $10( your $5 bet is returned and you win $5). By simply making the Pass Line or Don't Pass Line bets you give the casino a modest 1.4% advantage on you. This is much lower than most casino games and as you learn more advanced betting methods you will be able to bring this advantage down to almost zero! Most people prefer to bet with the shooter by making Pass Line bets. Recommended Basic Craps Books and Videos:
